Some of my old photos are meaningful to me but SO BAD! This was shot with my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix P4, which did well outdoors but not indoors. Shot in a dark gym, the color was awful, so after way too much playing around, I decided just to desaturate it.
In high school, Brandon (center) and a few of his teammates worked out with Gayle Hatch, an Olympic weight-lifting coach. Here they received a team award. It was only third place which may explain their dour expressions. Thirteen years later, Brandon is still lifting weights, using techniques taught by Coach Hatch. He still doesn't smile for my pictures.
Good memories- sometimes it's fun to look at those early photos and see how far we've come! It's hard to get my sons to smile in photos too- especially if I ask them!
