Eudora Welty is one of my idols. She was a brilliant author and photographer, very Southern. I've visited her home in Jackson, Mississippi. I've read her novels and short stories. I've seen a couple of her photographs in museums and more in books and online. Now I've discovered an audiobook of one of her novels, The Optimist's Daughter, read by Eudora Welty herself. It's like listening to a friend.
@wiesnerbeth It is amazing to listen to authors read their own works. I didn't know how many pictures Eudora Welty took until we visited her house. She took them in Mississippi during the 1930's, some of them for the WPA. Lots of rural scenes and people.
I like the style of this house. it must be beautiful inside. I like to take the opportunity here and thank you for your fav. on my picture of the Bruce and Sam (he's like a son to us).
Didn't know she was a photographer too! Will have to see if I can find any online. And thanks for the reminder, been meaning to take that book off the shelf...
I have heard her name and I know I've seen some of her pictures even though I can't recall them exactly. She sounds very inspirational. She certainly had a pretty home- enjoy the book!
