I thought they only ate fish

My seemingly contemplative egret was instead waiting for the perfect moment to snatch this poor bird. He wrestled with it for a bit, dunking it in the water several times before swallowing it practically whole. I know it's nature and we all gotta eat, but it was sad to watch.

Yikes! I've seen them drown rodents, but never a bird. Nature can seem cruel to be sure!
