Bretagne, the rescue dog by eudora

Bretagne, the rescue dog

My grandson asked me for some pictures of dogs, but we no longer have dogs. My son took me to the Service Dog Memorial in Houston where a local dog, Bretagne, is remembered for his search and rescue work at the World Trade Center after 9-11 and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rite.
Feel free to send your grandson pictures I have taken of our dogs if he would be interested.

This dog sounds like a special one and it’s a lovely memorial

There were so many aspects of rescue work after 9-11. One of my classmates at seminary was a volunteer fireman. He would come to class and then go to help with search and rescue. You could see the strain on his face as time was so crucial. I like the expanded aspect of this memorial. What a faithful servant!

@olivetreeann It has been heartbreaking reading and seeing the memories of the people who lived through 9/11. Firemen and search and rescue workers are heroes.

@grammyn Thanks! I will send him a couple of them. Marshall likes our cats because he can't have one, as his sister is allergic to them. But he prefers dogs. Their dog was killed by a predator, but when schools went virtual, his parents got them a new puppy. It gave them something to focus on while they were confined at home and they really bonded with her.
