Rosenwald School

Donaldsonville, Louisiana

I'm fascinated with the story of Rosenwald schools. Thousands of schools were built in the rural South with the help of philanthroopist Julius Rosenwald. This is the first one I've photographed. It has been moved, renovated and will reopen as a museum and genealogy center.
