Our precious kitty Elena has about destroyed our Christmas tree, which was pretty pitiful to begin with. Trees at the nurseries (real and artificial) were in short supply this year and ridiculously expensive, so I ordered a small artificial one from Amazon. Delayed. When it finally arrived and we set it up, the cats immediately toppled it. When we tried to put on lights, two strands were burned out. We settled for fewer lights and indestructible ornaments. No heirlooms or Waterford this year!
Christmas will come regardless. I hope everyone is having a meaningful holiday season.
@grammyn Thanks, Katy! My husband is not doing well and the cats give him (and all of us) a lot of pleasure. He wanted a nice tree but is willing to make compromises for our cats.
Oh but she looks so cute. we have snow at the moment and it was very cold when I went for a walk with my daughter today. let's see if it will be a white Christmas. a bit of rain and it might all melt awayl
@eudora I’m sorry to hear about your husband. Good to have the cats around then I guess. I ended up not putting much up this year either but we don’t have cats to compromise our situation.
