I haven't been to the downtown Baton Rouge farmer's market in a couple of years because of my bad knees (now replaced) and my husband's illnesses. Walking up, I heard this man singing old Fats Domino songs and realized how much I'd missed the fun and energy.
I have a question: Does a photo like this qualify for the street photography challenge? When I think of street photography, I think of serious B&W photos like those of Cartier-Bresson.
Do you have captured a great sense of the ambience with this photo and I think it definitely qualify as a street photography. You were on the street when you saw it were you not?
Oh yes, this is street photography and this, to me, is in the same vein as Cartier-Bresson. A moment captured, unplanned and not posed. Actually, I think this photo would look great in black and white too- although it might be a bit of a challenge with the skin tones of both the gentlemen. And ditto to Katy's question!
@Dawn@grammyn@olivetreeann Thanks for your comments. I may try B&W, Ann. Capturing skin tones accurately is a challenge for me and here, doubly so, because the musician's hat shaded his face.
