East bank of the Mississippi River in the town on Darrow.
The elegant Houmas House complex is behind the trees on the right, the river is on the left and an industrial site is at the top. My husband was a chemical engineer and knew every plant along the river. I am a history lover and enjoy exploring the old buildings and churches.
It looks as if that beautiful old home was built well below the waterline of the river. One wonders if flooding was an issue! I love the POV of this image. Were you standing on a bridge?
