White pelicans on University Lake, Baton Rouge

The brown pelican is the state bird of Louisiana. White pelicans breed on the Great Plains but fly up to 1,500 miles to spend the winter on the Gulf Coast. We love it when they stop in Baton Rouge for a while.
So fun how they are all gathered together on that log.

That is quite a line up. Fabulous to catch those reflections so well too!

What a great shot- I've only seen the brown ones in the wild here- but I did see white ones in Greece. Love how they're all lined up!!
