What was life like then? by eudora

What was life like then?

There were two doors, one for men and one for women. A stove for heat on cold Sunday mornings; they opened the windows when it was hot. A tattered Bible on the lectern is evidence of their faith. There is something so moving about old churches.

Providence Methodist Church near Lumpkin, Georgia, built ca 1859
Is it still being used as a church?

@allie912 It is maintained by a nearby Methodist church, but is not used for regular services. I stumbled onto it and was surprised it was open, but there was no vandalism.

How amazing that it was not vandalized! This is a beautiful interior shot of it. I can almost smell the mustiness.
