"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free."
— Frederick Douglass
It is a cold blustery day here in Colorado. I was at my son's school volunteering and this statue outside the school caught my eye. Luckily, I had my camera on me and snapped this shot! I love this statue! It symbolizes so much!
I love how the snow reminds me of a blanket wrapped around their shoulders. What a fantastic statue to have outside a school and what an incentive to children too.
[There's also the quote attributed to Mark Twain that's on a book bag, "The man who doesn't read good books has no advantage over the man who can't."] Really nice shot, Wendy, and the B&W is totally effective!
