It's been extremely surreal in our area when examining the destruction in our neighborhood and just how really close this fire came to our home. This area here happens to be just a block away from our home in a canyon area we would often hike. I am amazed that the greenery is coming up through the ash already. We have had lots of rain, which helps the growth. Many have been warned about mudslides. Fortunately, I believe our home is in an area that should be protected from the flooding.
Thank you all for your many wonderful comments, favs, and views from our Wyoming camp trip. I sure needed the break from the fire issues here at home!
@yentlski Thank you Jim! I sure feel so grateful that our home was spared. Many of the homes surrounding my home and the blocks in front of us were not effected. It is a miracle! @webfoot Thank you Paul! I was really trying to get close to the ground to show the new growth.
Beautiful shot! The contrast between the back of destruction and the vibrant green reminds me of a book called: "The faithful gardener" Clarissa Pinkola Estés - the wise tale about that which can never die.
Your shot describes really well what the book is all about and "what has seemed dead is dead no longer, what has seemed lost, is no longer lost, that which some have claimed impossible, is made clearly possible, and what ground if fallow is only resting- resting and waiting for the blessed seed to arrive on the wind with all Godspeed"
@woollywarrior Thank you so much Woolly and I love this excerpt!! Just perfect for the shot! @fonk Thank you Ryan. I am so sorry to hear about your friend's homes. It has certainly been a very trying time here. We know several people in the area that have been effected and are hoping the best for your community and the rebuilding process!
