I was surprised to see another Praying Mantis in the yard today- this time a brown one. According to my research, they change color depending on the moisture in their environment-- green when it is moist, and brown when it is dry. I deliberately walked around to get him against the green, but he is really trying to blend into the brown leaf. He is also giving me the evil eye. Apparently they can see 60 feet (20 meters).
