I sat quietly in the yard this afternoon, and this catbird got close enough for me to get a decent shot. He was nibbling at the suet droppings under the feeder.
Nice shot of him. They are wary little birds, that's for sure. I was just sitting on the deck watching one tentatively test the bird bath - spent more time looking around him to be sure he was alone than he did getting a drink. Then finally waded in and took a quick bath. Love the light in the eye - they're a hard bird for me to get detail on.
