Unlike experienced cows who know to move to some dry hay or straw, Patches wanted to have her baby in a snowbank. So, we again parked our vehicles outside and moved her into our shop.
She delivered a big strapping bull calf by herself and they spent the night indoors. He has eye patches just like his mom.
Now back with the rest of the cows. She is a protective mom, never more than a few feet from her new ward.
