Angus calf by farmreporter

Angus calf

The cows ate down the front field and it was time to move them to the back once again. The calves seem to have learned about electric fences, and we have made the necessary repairs. They are quite content to be back to their normal spot. This guy was playing peek-a-boo behind a sumac tree, ready to dash if I got even one step closer.
oh he is so cute...I could just kiss him....your so lucky to have cows...my dream is to live on an acerage and grow organic food!

Red Angus. We don't see many here, most often black. Lovely shot of a well fed calf.

Your comment reminds me of a poem by Philip Larkin entitled "Wires" which I studied with my English tutees last winter. The line "the calves seem to have learned about electric fences" made me think of "Young steers become old cattle from that day".
