Winter Boarders by farmreporter

Winter Boarders

We have gained five new guests to stay in the barn with the sheep over the winter because their summer residence has no insulation, electricity, or heat.
I don't mind ... they gave me three fresh eggs already!
Omelettes anyone?
We often take residents too, but this year we did not have room! Nice shot. We have a lot like these and because we don't recognize them we all call them Rita.

I had never thought about what you do with them in the winter. Mine will be getting the chop if I see not eggs soon. Great shot.

Seeing hens reminds me of my childhood when I used to be sent to collect the eggs from the old uninhabited cottage which doubled as a henhouse. They'd no heating either - your visitors are lucky cluckies :-)

@serenebarb Feel free to come and grab eggs anytime you want to - we will never be able to keep up with them!
You can grab a coffee and gab at the same time.

Chickens are fun. The ones I have now were raised by me and now they run to me when I come to the barn lot! Fresh eggs are great!
