Wow that looks wonderful. Must be quite hard looking after animals in this weather Wendy...frozen pipes & all that. You probably have them all lagged properly & winter chains on your cars etc etc!!
@happypat No, it really isn't that bad for us. We use the KISS principal - 'Keep It Simple, Stupid!'
So, we have a heat lamp hanging in a barrel over our water hydrant, water heaters in the water troughs to keep them from freezing, and we fill everything with a hose that we roll up and bring into our heated shop.
As for the chains on tires, we keep our yard really well cleared so that is not an issue either.
The cost of electricity really hurts in the winter though, with all these extra appliances running 24 hrs a day.
Beautiful capture of the frosty landscape sparkling in the morning sun. I like that you put the ice-covered rail of the bridge in the foreground, it frames the shot up nicely.
Really nice shot Wendy. I love winter (in the begining of it. Normally, in february, I'm fed up with it... Uou almost finish your first year!!! GoGoGo!

I've flipped through the past several months of your captured moments and there are some really beautiful shots of your family and areas around Glengarry! I liked the American Gothic! Your challenge this week is to capture and create a diptych SOOC that tells a story. Here are a couple of links for examples: http://digital-photography-school.com/use-diptychs-to-tell-a-story http://digital-photography-school.com/diptychs-triptychs-5-prime-examples
Good luck and I'm looking forward to seeing what you produce!
