She long wanted a wreath to grace the barn of her youth. Her husband convinced her that there would be no way they could find ever one that big to buy in order to surprise her with his own creation.
He made this one in 2011, hung it up during the day on Christmas Eve, and had a neighbour turn it on after they left the house to surprise her when they returned home.
She grew up on this farm and remembers the days as a young girl when she fed her father’s beef cattle small square bales in this barn. The exact age of this stately barn is unknown, but its massive beams have been hand planed with an adze and fastened together with wooden pins.
Baby, It's cold out there! My poor camera strongly objected to taking this picture shortly before sunrise so that the wreath would still be seen.
@farmreporter Dear Wendy, I am so happy and excited about your get-pushed task! ;)) Such a good idea! So I've been hesitating what to give you which is as exciting as yours. I think photographing lights could be very interesting, and around Christmas there're lights everywhere. You can do as many shots as you want, and if you like it I guess you'll do more. But if it doesn't fit you, reply and I think for something else. Have fun! ;))
A fave for the picture & the story...so romantic...is it about you I wonder ...a gem of a husband!!! The wreath looks amazing ...I love the whole thing! Who says farmers aren't romantic?
But yes, this guy is special for sure!
