The hops at the hop yard are starting to fill nicely. They will be plump and juicy for the annual harvest party on August 27 where the beer will be flowing. So nice to reap the rewards of last year's work while picking the new crop.
@francoise They are organic so they use our sheep to do the weeding around the vines. They sell their hops to a local craft brewery so - I guess we do contribute in a way!
Beautiful shot. I took some photos of hops at a craft brewery in VA that my husband likes. He was inside filling a growler and I went out to take pictures of the grapes! LOL! It wasn't until I got closer to them that I realized what they were.
Quite a few years ago mu one wish was for a garland of dried hops to go round my kitchen beams. I did get a small one & my word what a dust catcher it was, looked lovely for a year or so then out it went! I much prefer them growing in the field like this! Lovey sun on the leaves!
What beautiful lighting and composition and D0F and all of it. You are reaping the rewards of the harvest of your photography work as well! I will crack open a bottle of beer and toast you with it!
A really lovely photo. Love the colours and composition. I have enjoyed a few beers here on holiday so it's good to know that the hops are in good health:)
I like how the light is shining right on them, what a nice shot. Interesting to see these hops growing naturally like this.. I have only ever seen them dried on brewery tours.
