Selective Colour Challenge by farmreporter

Selective Colour Challenge

Brett @brett101 challenged me to try my hand at selective colour which had me concentrating on seeing colours that really popped against the rest of the world rather than blending in with the rest such as this tree that was part of a pleasant garden.
The challenging part is selectively choosing the red without losing complete details in the rest of the photo.
Thank you, Brett, for the challenge. I find that each and every get pushed challenge has me examining the world slightly differently.
@brett101 Here is my first entry (not my first attempt which was with a yellow bush but the yellow did not pop enough)
Will probably do a few more yet - photos are taken but not processed!

This is so striking! I love the composition and the mix of dark and light on both sides of the red tree.

@claycameras The dark on the left is a huge evergreen tree while the light on the right is another small tree with shrubs. Beautifully arranged small garden!

hi, wendy. we get to torture each other this week - we are get-pushed partners! i went through your albums and your get-pushed assignments. your assignment this week is all about white balance which is quite easy, mind you. however, you will have to choose a really interesting subject for this: a collage of four photographs of the same subject - each photograph taken in a different lighting and a different white balance setting. if you have questions, please let me know. thank you!
