I have been driving by this abandoned old house with its boarded up windows for many years now, knowing it had a story but never knowing what it was.
Today there was finally a truck in the driveway so I took the chance to pull in to see if I could get in. The owner kindly obliged, telling me that the home was built in 1855.
The roof is still good, with no leaks that I could see, and the walls still strong even with the peeling paint and plaster. I could see the lathe peeking out in places, adding a certain charm to the rooms.
The whole place was relatively dark because of the boards on the windows, but that only added atmosphere to the place.
If only these walls could talk, what tales they could tell!
For the 52 week challenge, where we had to tell a story of something forgotten.
How nice of the owner to allow you in. So sad they buildings are left to ruin like this. Maybe the owner will save it. Excellent image. Love the textures and faded colors odd the peeling paints 👍
Wow, so many textures, but so sad to see that it has left to just rot away like this. Brilliant picture for the challenge Wendy, well done, it is indeed very forgotten.
Just wanted you all to know how much I appreciate your comments and favs. It is so nice to open 365 with notifications waiting!
