Shadow by farmreporter

Shadow

Anne @365anne was my get pushed partner for the week. She read my profile and noticed I said that I have changed as a photographer since starting 365. She then challenged me to find a way to represent that change in one - or more – shots and in any way I chose.
I began my project as a diary, recording my life as it happened. It was pointed out to me that I was a reactive type photographer, never creating photography opportunities such as still life and such. I did not realize that I was photographing what the camera saw and not what I saw.
It isn’t until a person realizes that we ‘see’ things around us in our mind’s eye, that in our mind we add something more to the picture to make it more alive, or take something away to make the important stand out.
So, as a photographer I now attempt to take – and make - photos that are what I see in my mind’s eye – to put the focus on the way I see the world. This is causing me to learn the limits of my camera and learn a little post processing to boot.

Anne @365anne
Here is one photo that shows the changes I have made since starting this wonderful project.
Thank you for the great challenge that made me think of all the steps I have made to get here.

This is just so beautiful. IT really captures the mood. Fav!

And I am inspired by your realization about the difference between photographing what the camera sees and realizing what you see. I need to do more of that. Fav!
