I was continually debating with myself with this challenge. There are few animals and birds that are truly wild in this area and those that are truly wild are exceptionally reclusive. They turn tail and run at the first sign of humans slowing down or getting out of vehicles.
I had ample opportunity to shoot pretty pictures of Blue Jays eating acorns out of the oak trees in my front yard from my living room window or get photos of Canada Geese at the local park.
Both options seemed to be cheating somehow.
This photo is a happy compromise.
This bird (I think it is a Flicker) was very wary of me as I was sneaking up on her. She did not allow me to get too close - and eventually did fly away (but I did not catch her in flight ... grrr!)
