My get pushed partner, northy, noticed that I tend to take most of my photos outside, and that I've mentioned some challenges associated with shorter days and gloomy light... so, for a challenge, she suggested experimenting with indoor light such as a candle, a flashlight, or even a cell phone / tablet to illuminate my subject. I used a flashlight to try to make this old fashioned Christmas ornament look like a true log cabin on a cold winter's night.

It was a great challenge for me since I haven't had the opportunity in the last couple of weeks to actually spend much tine with my camera. This was a quick shot - and showed me how easy it will be to take a photo a day when I am not under pressure to get out and about!
