My daughter and I grabbed an Ice Cap from Tim Horton's and had a leisurely drive through the Long Sault Parkway.
It is always such a scenic route, with lots of wildlife along the banks of the St. Lawrence River.
I spotted this guy and felt lucky that he waited for me to grab a shot. Little did I know he was still as a statute because he was fishing!
I caught the whole series of him diving for the fish as well as flying away.
Such a great opportunity!
What a fantastic focused shot! Even the reflection is so clear! I've seen these sort of birds flying between various ponds and lakes and wading in the wetlands, but I've never been close enough to get a shot like this. Well done!
@bernicrumb
I was not actually that close to him and was actually wishing I had a longer zoom lens!
This is a really cropped shot - he was so small in the original that he was down-right boring.
@farmreporter I'm very impressed at how clear the cropped shot is. I've had very poor luck with that level of cropping ending up with a non-pixelated image. Another reason that I'm saving to get a full frame camera...
