We made sure we stopped every couple of hours to stretch our legs (and backs) and let the dogs out for a bit of a run. We tried to make the stops away from traffic and places where the dogs could run free.
These were usually small rest stops with picnic tables and port-a-potties.
This river was frozen solid last year at this time but this winter has been warmer so the river did not freeze this year.
