I have only ever completed a full month of words once, and lately get just over half of them done. This month I hope to complete all 31 days ....
This is a two-fer. I am also using it for the B&W technology challenge. As a farmer, I often think about how technology has affected farming and food production.
I will not offer my opinion on whether I think technology in food production is good or evil - but just state that technology has affected every aspect of our lives including food production.
The tractors now have GPS along with more efficient and precise planting / harvesting tools. Some tractors can even be operated by the farmer sitting in his office.
Barns now have automatic environmental controls so that animals living in them are never too hot or cold - and they are probably more pampered than our pets.
There are now preservation methods to keep our food fresher longer. Food processing has become very modern and hygienic, and food grown half a world away can be delivered fresh with nary a bruise on it.
And no, we do not stick needles in our apples ... this was just my way showing technology in agriculture!
But, a new variety of apple that does not turn brown when left out in the air has been developed and it was developed without the use of needles or chemicals.
Great image and point and congrats again I see you are finalist with this picture too! So interesting to read what you have written. Some changes are definitely for the better, others I have huge reservations about... time will tell I guess.
