November Words - Poppies

While I always think of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for freedom in lands far from here during the two minutes of silence on Remembrance Day, it is those who are left behind that I truly mourn.
I cannot imagine how a mother can cope losing her son to war.
And the multitude of poppies that cover each and every cenotaph in every city and town across our great land only amplifies the sorrow felt on this day.
aces!

Such a waste of young lives.

My grandfather and his brother (both Canadians) were wounded during WWI but made it home to live a long life. It must be very moving to see the poppies everywhere.

In WW1 many mothers lost more than one! I’m sure you would never really recover from that!
