March Words - Grapefruit

This is the way my mother used to serve grapefruit to me. She would take a knife and cut the fruit from the rind, and slice each segment so they would come out easily with a spoon.
And there would be lots of sugar of course.
Now I just peel my grapefruit like an orange and eat it that way.
that's a zinging pink

Thank goodness for photoshop - most of the grapefruit I found were more beige or white than pink - lol!

Excellent reminder of how my mom served it to me too, I loved the sugar but I think it actually made the grapefruit seem more sour than it does alone.

I love grapefruit, but without sugar. The pink ones, if I can get my hands on them, I peel and eat like oranges. But we used to serve all grapefruit like that with the segments cut around

I’ll love pink grapefruit, and as Shanne eat it like an orange and no sugar.

My mother did it the same way. They were so thoughtful, right?
