Inside a hornets nest

I've often wondered what it looks like inside a hornets nest. I found one today and opened it up. Not sure what I was expecting but interesting in it's own way.

It seems not to look a whole lot different than the outside. The geometry seems so perfect.

It's amazing how all of the cylinders seem to be so close to the same. They are very intricate. Great shot.

Such a beautiful specimen you found. We regularly need to take a wasp nest down, they look the same.
