Quintessential English countryside, so beautifully serene and peaceful looking..
it looks like the ground has been "rolled" over.. many farmers still practise this each year even though there is evidence it compacts the soil too tightly hindering the growth of the grasses.

Beautiful shot. I wonder if the stripes are a result of the angle at which the seeds were planted when the tractor went one way and at another angle when it turned to go back on itself or uneven application of fertiliser??
