Wonderful view out over the ocean :)

@suzanne234 Thanks Suzanne, we have the White Cliffs at Dover and then these at Folkestone. They're not very high. I took this because the water was beautifully marked by the overhead clouds but by the time I'd driven here the clouds had thickened and the markings vanished ...

@hermann Thanks Sally, the water was streaked with silver but by the time I got here no silver showing!

Very nice. Would not have expected B & W to work so well on such a scene!
July 30th, 2017
@redandwhite Thanks Catherine, all those lovely markings disappeared so thought I'd try b&w for a change

Good choice for b&w. Lovely scenery.
July 31st, 2017
ooh i just love sea views and cliffs like this. could sit there for hours
July 31st, 2017
Lovely scene, works well in b&w.
For your get pushed challenge how about taking a vintage photo - either use a vintage article or use post processing to give it a vintage effect. Your choice.

@salza Thanks Sally, appreciate your comments.
And thank you very much for not giving me star trails, light painting or slow shutter speeds! Felicity
July 31st, 2017
@fbailey star trails are difficult at the best of times and something that should only be a challenge if you decide to take it on yourself. Same goes for light painting and slow shutter speeds - take them on if and when you decide and not because you have to! And in a limited amount of time as well.
I like to issue the challenge around something that I find interesting or a challenge that enjoyed doing.

@salza Think I know what I'm going to use and I love playing with textures:). One of the goals I set myself was double exposure for the next few weeks, look forward to seeing yours:)

Reminds me of old black and white films like Whiskey Galore. Nice picture 🙂

Great view and capture. A lovey place to spent some time to relex.

i've no idea of how it was to be there.. for me this feels soft and gentle.. somewhere i could sit and unwind..
the clouds add a nice counterbalance to the cliff, which in itself is beautiful - filled as it is with umpteen different plants/flowers.. i can discern waves but as they are small they do not disturb the peace.. it looks idyllic..

@kwind @johnsutton @peadar @bigmxx @pyrrhula Thanks very much for your encouragement!

@jorlam Thank you for such lovely feedback! On a sunny day with the right clouds the water here is full of colour - inky blue to turquoise to silver. Sadly on the day there was too much cloud. Funnily enough the plant detail shows up better in b&w than in colour. It is a very pretty spot, wish I could afford a house up here!
