Autumn abstract by fbailey

Autumn abstract

My get pushed challenge for the week was to produce an abstract. This challenge came from AnnieD @annied and this is my one and only abstract I've ever created with a photograph and doctoring in Elements.

No need to comment, but thanks for looking if you do!

I found this one outside of my comfort zone because I don't 'think' in abstract form. I like things to be immediately discernible and find it hard to separate a portion of an image from its whole so that its original form is a mystery. I can admire the lines and curves in someone else's image, just have difficulty in producing something of my own.

Anyway, the above has autumnal colours (hence the title) and was rather heavily doctored to attempt to disguise its origin.
@annied Hi Annie, am afraid this is my one attempt at your challenge which is an original. I hope it counts! Felicity

Interesting what happens when you try things - its when you actually stop is the clever part!

@cmp @suzanne234 @radiogirl @hermann @rjb71 @redandwhite @littleconnie @golftragic Thanks very much, I was so unsure about this one!
@maggiemae Thanks Maggie, you hit the nail on the head there! Overcooking was the biggest problem for me.
@annied Thanks Annie, very happy you're happy! I struggled with this one.
Just in case anyone would like to know what it is - a rusting part of the iron underpinning to the concrete promenade at the beach. The orange tones are the rusted ironwork and the green tones the weed. Put on a diagonal to add a little interest!
