The Crypt Door by filsie65

The Crypt Door

Another shot of our 600 year old village church... this is the door to the crypt, it's broad but not very high, and made of heavy old wood. Inside they store the coconut shy etc alongside the mortal remains of the hierarchy of yesteryear - I've been inside and it's an odd mixture. Today all seemed normal, I think........
the history is amazing, I've probably said it before but in Canada we think 100 year is really old! Not sure if the 'extras' are normal :)

@allred Thanks Mary Lou - I agree, I think 100 years is old! I can't quite get my head around the wonderful building being there for so many years and all the changes and history it has seen.
PS What extras.....?! :)

Oh great shot, love the textures and tones, and you have given me an idea for a shot, so thanks or that :-)

@wishbone Thank you - I hadn't any idea how to do it so I made the shot black and white with a focal point left in colour (the whole building is that soft sandstone colour) and the moss on the step stayed green too which helped the effect. I don't like playing with photos too much, I'm too much of a novice but I made an exception for this one.
