This is hanging high up inside our village church, next to 2 boards with the names of the fallen from our villages and a boys school - so many from such a little place and so many from the same families. The flag is starting to wear away at the hem which reminded me of the flags I had seen before which are almost threadbare with time but still hang in memory.
At school today we all stopped at 11am - you could have heard a pin drop. I was so proud of them all. The flag is up all year 'round.
Very appropriate for today, and a nicely taken photo. Your comment 'so many from such a little place' highlights a particular aspect that struck me too when I was looking at our local war memorial.
Nice veteran's tribute shot. I'm glad your school observed a moment of silence at 11:00. I observe the time at 11:11 every year, usually in the company of military service members like my husband.
