Why was the mushroom popular at parties?

...you don't really want to know, do you?!
Spotted this little clump behind a building at school at the end of playtime - loved how they were all clustered together, it reminded me of Disney's Fantasia. The oak leaf shows how small they were.

@tooki Don't you like your friends?! :) My ex-husband had 2 favourite jokes, both about mushrooms and even now, 23 years after we got married, I still hear them in my head when anyone mentions mushrooms or fungi...aaaarrrghghgh! (The other one is why are mushrooms so filling? After eating them you don't have mush-room left. Sorry. Please don't unfollow me now...!!) xx
