January Challenge word I'm going for today is 'new' which is an alternative to shops. (I went to the hideous 'Sports Direct' looking for footwear for George... nothing could compel me to commit it to memory or share the experience with you). Instead, a chance to share the final instalment of my happy hyacinth story...
Bought these sprouting potted blue hyacinth bulbs from the church bazaar, assured by Gordon that they would bloom for Christmas. We had our doubts, didn't we? Well they bloomed this week but it seems the date of blooming wasn't all we might have doubted. I still believe Gordon to be a good man and an honest one. Clearly it was something in the labelling....!
So touched by your kind views and comments on my gentle sunset - so glad I saved it and got the chance to share it with you.
BTW I should add here that I try to thank a comment with a comment rather than reply to all your kind comments here - I know how time-consuming it is for you all (as well as me) to check back here and would rather spend the time commenting on yours - hope you approve, I really do appreciate the time you spend calling by :)
Maybe you're meant to edit it till they change to blue? Still beautiful and a lovely shot though.
I love the idea of a comment for a comment rather than a thank you - much more productive!
I do the same, Phil....I comment on who comments on me...and sometimes just because their photo is worth a few words....love the pink hyacinth! Here they are a Spring flower.
well they did bloom for Christmas .... Orthodox Christmas, the Gregorian calendar Christmas .... (7th Jan)
Not sure what spin I can put on the blue-pink ..... something about how pink used to be for boys and blue for girls.....not sure where I am going with that though
