Odd that in the middle of all the chaos and disorder of the last few days, I should find a moment of peace and happiness lying on my back in a flower bed with my head against a rose-trunk balancing a dslr on my nose. And yet I did.. a friend knew I loved Hellebores and bought me some when I moved here 7 years ago... I thought I would see them from the front of the house but they are hidden by the wall and other shrubs which have grown larger, and I only saw one of the flowers for the first time, today. I'm sure this could be better, but I think the flower is just beautiful with its gentle moody shades.
Oh - and as it's Buddha's birthday I'll just add the thought that 'Flowers are symbolic of wisdom'... must go and get some more... :)
So sorry to be only dipping in and out of your shots I hope to catch up properly soon when I get a little 'teenager-free-time'...!
Thank you so much for your views / comments on my grassy sunshine shot, you're all so kind. :)
You seem to be spending quite a bit of time down 'n dirty with the flora of late..lol ;D .A beautiful little flower and very peaceful indeed. Great shot!
that is how I find my moments of peace too! I love these flowers. I wonder if we have them here? I never see them. They remind me of rich oil paintings from the "old days"with their muted plum colors....so gorgeous.
It's a beautiful flower for sure! Isn't it amazing how getting lost in taking a photograph can feel peaceful. I love when I'm so engrossed in my photography that the world around me seems to disappear.
