'If you love something set it free. If it comes back, it's yours, if not then it never was'
An old saying but it sprang to mind this morning when I tentatively gave Laddie his last antibiotics and let him loose for the first time in over a week. He came back - several times and the relief was enormous after his injury last week. (You can just see the stitches on his chest). He and Coco followed me around the garden at tea-time and I got this funny shot which I love - of the two little tamed animals who have tamed me and trust me so much.
This is also another double try-4-July posting! Double points claimed as I feel their trust and company is a wonderful gift, and of course it also fits the 'friends / unlikely friends' challenge.
You are all so lovely to me, thank you so much. I can't quite say how much your input to my day has come to mean to me. Oh heck, lets just go ahead and be huggy! )( x
TGIF Tomorrow - have a good one! :)
So pleased Laddie is on the mend! I was so intent on checking his stitches out that I didn't see Coco in the background! Definitely another double with the topics you are getting good at this! Lol! A lovely shot of two friendsl enjoying the sunshine!
What a great shot of your little ones! They are both beautiful! And they obviously like posing for the camera. I am so glad that Laddie is on the mend! I can imagine what you went through when he was gone. So glad they are both safe and sound.
@riverlandphotos Hi Deirdre! There is a very aggressive tom around here who tries to eat their food (in the house!) Laddie has been seen to get between him and Coco and square up to him. I heard an almighty cat fight at the weekend, couldn't see who was involved, but after coming back ok, Laddie went awol then came back looking very weak with the huge wound. Vet thinks he had a puncture wound which turned into an abcess and burst. She had him under a GA for an hour cutting away the infected flesh, careful to avoid his jugular & oesophagus (!) and gave him a 2-week antibiotic injection. We had to give him 2 capsules daily (that was fun) and keep him in for a week during a heatwave! Poor chap, but his wound has flattened and seems to be healing up ok, and he's definitely more up to his usual strength but he is home more and usually near me somewhere :) Stitches out tomorrow with any luck.
@riverlandphotos Thanks! I still feel a lurch when I remember him coming into view, mewling softly with a hole bigger than a bottle-top exposing his neck... the joy of seeing him patter up to me now , purring and looking for a fuss is lovely :)
Wow- cat war stories! Glad he had the sense to come home before it was too late and so glad he's better now. Love the shot of the two of them keyed in on you taking the shot.
