Alien Landscape

This was a real surprise - drove out past this yesterday and had to stop on the way back to check my vision... I think it is the beginning of quarrying in that part of Bedfordshire but it reminded me of an extraterrestrial landscape rather than England's green and pleasant land!

I love images that capture my interest to the point that I am still looking at it several minutes later... this is one of those images. I love the tones and texture, but there is something else about the image... I just can't seem to put my finger on it. Great job!
