Ohmygosh it's a dragonfly

Ok folks year 3 starts here...!
I was enjoying a catch-up on the phone with my mum when I noticed a dragonfly whizzing about. I rarely ever see this here, couldn't cut off my Mum to chase it but remembered a tip from Lisa and Helge... I sat nonchalantly with the phone on my ear and my P&S camera waving about on long-zoom and managed to get this shot when it sat down for a moment. It's well camouflaged against the pebbly pink paving (of course it couldn't have settled on a white one, could it..?) but I think you will all testify that I have finally got a shot of one. Thank you for your indulgence! If anyone has any hints as to how to make it clearer please let me know.. I tried SC but the wings just disappeared or glowed pink...
I was chuffed to bits with your kind comments on my 'landmark' pins shot yesterday - it's easy to say that without the feedback and support this project would have failed in the first month. You are marvellous, thank you :)

Nice shot, Phil! Wicked! I have yet to capture a dragonfly. This is fantastic. Great color, detail and texture. I like the way it is in its natural form. You are very patient!! Nicely done! :)

I was chasing a dragonfly out front of my store. He landed on a yellow flower with one wing in front of a brown car. Half of him disappeared in the pic.....darn! Dropped everything yesterday when I saw a monarch in my yard!

I was looking through some of my old shots and saw your link to this one. Great shot. Your dragonfly is a lot more colourful than mine... it looks a lot healthier too ;-)
