Marrow-Green (please don't worry about commenting!)
Well this is an odd one... on my birthday I came home to find friends had left a bag with a marrow, a bottle of salad cream and a birthday card in it. I laughed out loud, knowing they weren't being kinky but not understanding it at all! =)
Anyway - the kids have pulled hideous faces at the thought of my cooking marrow for tea, so I've offered it to my vegetarian friend and thought I'd get a shot of it first.. balanced between my knees ..!
Thanks for your support of my rainbow month :)
Just had another calendar view and it's looking superb! I personally love marrow with loads of salt, pepper and butter. Lovely shot of the stripy details xx
I actually think its quite pretty! Is it like a squash? If so, I'd cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and goo, put a pat of butter and some brown sugar in the scooped out part, maybe a few pecans and some dried cranberries or raisins, and bake it in a moderate oven for about an hour and have it with dinner! But you've probably already given it away!
A very Happy Birthday Phil for today or when it was...a rather thoughtful different present...do you like marrow? Even if you don't this marrow is very beautiful don't you think!
Happy Birthday To You!!! Happy Birthday To You!! Happy Birthday, Dear Phiiilllll... Happy Birthday Toooooo YOUUUUUU! Nice shot! I've been watching "Come Dine With Me" on More 4 and a lot of the shows have marrow on their menus but I've never seen one actually in tact. Usually by the time they show it, it's been cut and/or cooked. What exactly is it? A fruit? A veg? And what's it taste like? Someday I will make it across the pond to savor your fine cuisine.
