A sweet little old chap stood up yesterday, helped by his stick, saying "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old..." It seemed particularly poignant, and I remembered it today as I trogged home through the wet leaves.
We all stopped at 11am for two minutes, even the 4-year-olds, and the new boys who were bemused and confused at first just bowed their heads and shared the moment with us while another group were gathered at the memorial in the rain.
(No poppies were harmed or neglected in the making of this photo).
Thanks for calling by - keep warm :)
Lovely that the very young are being taught to respect & remember ...I had thought at one point many years ago that people were forgetting but not so thank goodness.
Hi Phil you have a lovely album. For the challenge of this week I think it would be fun if we both do the same challenge (the same kind of object or technique). How about that? You can decide on the object or subject!
Lovely remembrance. I have my poppy and I have been wearing it out whenever I leave the house. I also noticed that every football team were wearing theirs during their matches. Which was nice to see the poppies on the kits. It's an important day to remember and I hope that long after we are gone they all still remember. Very nice way to display the poppy.
