Lurve the moon. Last night it seemed it was racing across the sky - the illusion given by the clouds haring past in the gales. Amazed I snatched this shot, balancing the camera on top of the car while being buffeted. (Sooc but cropped). It was almost 15th so I'm putting it in the slot for then. I have so much boring catching up to do (housework and sanity) so I'm looking forward to the 365 catching up :)
Thanks for calling by
@sabanford@trinda Some Canon's have an "AV" setting which is what I use for mine. Not sure if that's what Phil used but it looks like it. It depends on the camera. I used to have a very basic P&S Kodak EasyShare and was able to get decent shots with detail. This is how I did it: For anyone with P&S cameras that don't have an "AV" setting, tips to shooting moons with detail: Set your ISO as low as it can go. Then set your focus to "Infinity". Zoom in as far as you can, this means going into full digital zoom. Turn your flash on. Take the picture.
Our full moon was glorious too. We had a very high veil of thin cloud and it made a huge golden glow around the moon. It was a fabulous sight. You have done a very good crop here. Great shot.
@sabanford@trinda@ubobohobo Hi Ladies. Thank you :) The moon really is lovely at the moment. I turn my exposure down which helps dim down the glare and bring out the shadows on the surface. I put the moon in the centre of my viewfinder, zoom in as far as I can, wait for the camera to catch up then focus and click. My canon has a really good zoom on it which I think is the main helper.
Bev @prttblues gets great shots with her method, have a go and see what works. And keep warm! :)
Brilliant. Are you doing the B&W Book Club? As I am your Get Pushed partner I challenge you to try panning. I hope you can return the favour by challenging me to something - I am doing the B&W Book Club and the Film February so anything that fits in with them will be great. Thank You.
Your moon shots are always so good. Boring catching up is what gets left in my house but unfortunately have study again now so hopefully 365 won't go by the wayside xx
