F is for Flight

My get-pushed partner this week, Laura, challenged me to try panning. Well I wanted it to start with F and fit in with the feb14words challenge too, so here are some ducks in flight (in black and white!)
(I looked up a definition of duck, btw, I know I'm milking it this month with my wildfowl generally but hope you won't mind, oh kind and endearing 365ers)
I still get a buzz every time I see someone has called by or left a message, thank you so much for your enduring support :)
@la_photographic Hi Laura - here's my panned shot of birds in flight. I got some funny ones of birds mid-flap too - plan to post them in album 2 if I get a minute! Five minutes after I packed my stuff away a flotilla of swans flew by... just after I'd started to drive away! Never mind, next time :)

fun b&w shot of those ducks in flight

Looks like you nailed the brief. The ducks are focused and the background blurred. Excellent job.

Good shot but think they are gulls not ducks. There again could be my eyes .

Nice capture

Clear capture and you caught the reflections as well!

@padlock Cathy thought the same... I ignored her too as 'gull' isn't a word in the list....!! ;)

Great shot, Phil! Love the b&w. They look graceful as they fly just above the water's surface. Well done.

This works well! I'll be doing some motor racing photography when the BTCC season starts in the Spring. That's a great panning challenge - You're welcome to tag along if you want to try it

I love seeing shots of birds in flight as I find it such a difficult thing to capture. Nice to see them all doing their own thing xx

Hiya Phil! I have been racking my brains trying to think of a subject for you to photograph for this week's get pushed challenge. I was going to leave this as a very open ended challenge for you but changed my mind. Basically I want to see a photograph with balls! Now you might think that I want you to go and photograph a football match, or perhaps a
pawnbrokers sign but no... I want to see a shot that shows that you have balls, chutzpah, cheek or whatever you want to call it. You can grab a stranger on the street and ask to take a picture of them, you can hang upside down from a fairground ride or whatever you want as long as it shows a sense of "balls". Please don't go over the top though - we don't want a squished or damaged Phil now, do we?

@steampowered but I don't!! I shall have to try and grow some. Clearly inappropriate to give you the same challenge....! =)
February 22nd, 2014
@filsie65 I might have to grow some myself! :o))

Ooh nicely done, this really works well! Something I haven't tried yet, I might just have to give it a go now!

Hi! Well I took a couple days off because that first night was an upset. Good thing because last night all the power went out for 12 hours and I'd never have been able to get it out of my eye. Decided to watch the Oscars without anxiety tonight - I know- excuses excuses. So, tomorrow I'm giving it a go again and will take it out early in the evening to avoid that bedtime anxiety. Thanks for your concern and support!
