Thought I'd fill a gap with this pretty ribes.
Now here's a question for you wot are cleverer than me (that's everyone then)... the bokeh was light shining through the gaps in-between other plants... it wasn't circular so I guess it's the lens that made it that way. So.. (here's the question) if I put a shape over my lens would the bokeh have come out shaped like wot it did with Christmas lights (even though they were circular to start with)...?

Yes Phil, that's what will happen. It's the shape of the lens or aperture allowing the light to the sensor that makes the shape. I'm sure someone will explain it better than me :)
