Could barely contain my excitement yesterday when I saw this rather stern but beautiful Green Woodpecker pecking at my overgrown lawn yesterday. Somehow I was able to sneak to get my camera and hold it up against the glass window to get a few snaps. This was the clearest, though I brightened and darkened it a little. Not very good at capturing birds (with 2 cats in the house/garden, they don't hang around for long) so thank goodness he spotted some ants and gave me a long chance to zoom in on the shot.
Chuffed to bits with all your recent views and comments, looks like being a quieter weekend, when I wake up I might just spend some time here and ignore the housework...! :) TGIF - have a super weekend x
I've had them on the lawn at the end of the garden in my pre-365 days and the rest of the birds cleared off - quite intimidating! Lovely to have actually caught one on camera.
