My get-pushed challenge from Krista wasn't easy thanks to BST! She asked me to "take a b&w image of a building...at night" Well night falls quite late here recently, approaching the longest day, but as luck would have it I had to collect Cathy from a late rehearsal and took my camera with me. There are few public buildings in the village and as I felt uncomfortable snapping someone's home at night I chose the local pub instead. Odd that it hasn't appeared in my project 'til now...! It's been a public house for hundreds of years, and I hope it will be for hundreds more to come. Cheers!
@blueberry1222 Hope this fits the bill - the alternatives were the church (featured before) or the village hall (too many people and just square!) Thanks for the challenge, I quite like the result. :)
@bella_ss Hi Sheralee - yes, BST is British Summer Time... the clocks go forward an hour in spring and back an hour in autumn to make the most of the daylight. In winter it gets dark from about 4.30, but I saw the last glimmers of sunset as I drove to collect George at 10pm last week! This shot was well past my bedtime..! :)
@filsie65 I love how you guys get twilight, we don't get it here. Even the areas that have daylights savings get dark by about 8pm at the latest. It must be hard to get kids to bed or maybe they think nothing of it?
@bella_ss You don't get twilight... so it goes very dark very quickly? Yes it's hard to get little ones to bed when it's suddenly light and sunny outside! Hard to get up in the mornings when it's dark too but I guess our body-clocks adjust and take over. I find it hardest to sleep in if I get disturbed when the dawn chorus starts about 4am..! 8)
I probably shouldn't say we don't get it, just not like you do. The latest sunset we ever have where I am is 7pm. I did find the early sunrise a little weird... I guess there's the good and bad in each situation :)
