WOW so glad I stayed out to watch this.... the Vulcan is being decommissioned at the end of the year so it's making several public appearances... this time it flew down from Doncaster to Shuttleworth for a flying display.. just down the road from me. My goodness we knew it had arrived, what a roar.. the houses were shaking and the whole area seemed to tremble as it scraped the chimneys and scared the birds out of the trees. The sound of its approach was gripping and exciting at the same time, but once past it was almost quiet... it was a beautiful sight as it twisted and circled the village. So fast and close, I missed it by zooming in too far, so just as well it came by more than once! Fabulous :)
Thanks for calling by - mwah!
Great shot - shows the distinctive delta shape nicely. Also like your later photo. I remember seeing on flying over my school out here (NZ). Was flying it low and then opened it up just above us. Magnificent sight. Pity that one crashed when it got home.
